There are several settings that you can use to manage images on your FusionBB messageboard:
- Setting the Maximum Image File Size That Will Display Inline
- Log into the Admin CP
- Click on Forums
- Click on Forums Settings
- Scroll down to Display Inline and set this text box to the maximum image file size you want to have display inline.
Another setting to consider: Allowable file types. On this same screen, find Valid File Types. You may want to only allow image files that are web compatible such as .gif .jpg and .png If you allow other file types, they will not be displayed in line.
- Setting the Maximum File Size a User Can Attach
- Log into the Admin CP
- Click on Forums
- Click on Edit Permissions
- To to the Global section and click on Modify beside the group you want to set permissions for. (For example, click on the User group to modify their permissions.)
- Scroll down to Can Attach File to Post and check the box.
- Also make sure the allowable file size is set at least as high as the maximum allowable image file size was.
- Also note that on this page you can also set the maximum number of attachments a group can make.
The above example will set the permission for User at the Global level. All other forums that inherit their permissions from Global will have the same permissions.
The display image inline feature currently places all attached image(s) at the bottom of the post. FusionBB versions 1.1 and newer have an article view that allowed images to be embedded within the text of a post.
