(Applies to: all versions of FusionBB)

If you get an error message, perhaps, similar to the one below:

There was a problem loading this page:
The moving of uploaded file has failed. Usually this is because where you are uploading to isn't writable. Make sure permissions on this directory and files within are writable.
File: /home/******/public_html/fusionbb/includes/file_class.php
Line: 105

Check the following items:

  • Make sure the directory you're saving attachments in is writable. Try setting its permissions to 777.
    • To set which directory in which attachments will be saved, go to this section:

Configuration Settings >> Path and URL Settings >> Upload Directory

  • If your Upload folder is already set to the 777 permissions, make sure that it's using the full server path, not just the path from your webspace. Depending on the server type, you might need to check with your host if you're unsure. File uploads also sometimes don't like using symlinks, so again, the full and true path from the server's root should work.

If you've tried these suggestions and are still receiving an error message, please contact the FusionBB staff via a support ticket or post a question regarding your problem on the main FusionBB site messageboards.
