Anytime you purchase the Professional Upgrade service from FusionBB and have our qualified staff upgrade your install we will include 60 days of Upgrade Protection.

This means that if you pay us the $49 fee for our Professional Upgrade Service (major releases only) and we release a new full version within 60 days we will perform the upgrade to that next full version at no additional charge.

Also within the next few days we will roll out our new Upgrade Inclusive Maintenance Package. As well as the annual $39 fee for maintenance on your FusionBB license you will have the option to purchase a $125 annual maintenance fee instead.

This new annual fee will not only include your maintenance service but will also include Professional Upgrade Service for the entire year (major releases only). It's a simple solution for those that don't want to worry about doing their own upgrades and always want to be running the current FusionBB release.

I'll be posting here shortly with additional information about how to purchase this option.
Between now and 9:00pm pst on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14th (that is this Thursday), anyone who Shares the Love will be entered into our little contest of which the winner will be announced on Sat. Feb. 16th.

How do I Share the Love?
Great question and there are actually three ways!

First: You will earn 1 (one) entry for every license or support upgrade or professional support, install or migration package you purchase between now and then.

Second: You can earn 1 (one) entry for any friend or colleague of yours that purchases a FusionBB license. Just make sure that you or your colleague informs us who they are and who they were referred by at time of purchase.

Third: You will receive 1 (one entry) for each testimonial or review you post about FusionBB in each of the following locations (you may only post once in each place for a total 3 (three) possible entries).

You will receive 1 (one) entry for your testimonials posted right here in our testimonials forum: HERE

You will relieve 1 (one) entry for your review posted at hotscripts: HERE

You will recieve 1 (one) entry for your review posted at Google: HERE to place your review at Google click the "Write A Review" link on the address / location bubble that is above the FusionBB location on the map.

This drawing is random and though we are asking for reviews to be written you will receive one entry for each review no matter what the content of the review. The winner will be chosen at random and no preference will be given to anyone based on their review.

Okay this is pretty easy and I want to get in on Sharing the Love, after all I do Love FusionBB. But what do I win?

Another great question. The winner will be upgraded to a LIFETIME license. If the winner already has a lifetime license or would prefer they may choose to instead receive a free 5 year license. This prize has no cash value.

It's a short contest so everyone get out there and start Sharing the Love!

New FusionBB Licensing / Billing System

Effective immediately we have launched a new licensing and billing system here at FusionBB.

As we have grown it has become obvious that our license system, which was not 100% automated, was becoming a hindrance to our growth, as well as inconvenient for our customers.

After much discussion we decided our needs were not especially unique from other software companies and that we would rather utilize a third party billing/licensing system than take our developers away from active FusionBB development. For many months we tested, tweaked, customized and worked with different systems.

We believe after testing these different systems we have found one that will both benefit us and our customers. We have made the necessary software modifications for to run the software of our choice in our environment and launched it today.

The big change for each of our existing clients is that you will no longer download software via the FusionBB client area. You will instead be re-directed to the new billing/licensing system. Once logged into the client area of the new billing / licensing system you will be able to view orders, and access the downloadables for each order.

We are currently working on step-by-step documentation on using the new client center and I will post a link here within the next 48 hours.
When logging in to the client area of the new system you will login with your email address and the same password you use for your login here at the FusionBB forums

If you have problems logging in contact us via our contact form HERE :

For all other questions or comments I have set up a discussion thread on this announcement here:

The News & Announcements area is now read only. However we have launched discussion forum for News & Announcements. For each announcement that a staff member makes we will also start a discussion thread on the topic where you will be able to comment on our announcements.

We hope that you find this re-organization of our News & Announcements to be as beneficial as we do.

We changed to a different IP address early this morning. Most ISP's will grab changes like that almost immediatly, but if yours lagged or your machine cached the old IP address you may have seen a cPanel screen.

This wasn't us going anywhere, just changing IP addresses so that we can add some new functionality in the new feature which will require a security certificate and thus a new IP.
Big Thanks!

I gotta give big thanks to the FusionBB team on getting this done and out the door. Thanks to Billy, Chris, Lori and Couchtomatoe!

Also a HUGE thanks to our Alpha testers - who do a great job installing, reinstalling and upgrading sites over and over again to help us work out issues and test things out. Also a thanks to everyone who beta tested this release.

This ended up being a mondo release - we probably should have called it 3.0 - but hey, we are still just getting warmed up.

We've still got some big things coming very soon up our sleeves... stay tuned!!!!

One more Beta - 2.2 Beta 5

We had one last nagging issue to be fixed, whereby Moderators weren't properly being handled if they weren't assigned to a forum.

So I wanted to float one more beta.

This version adds a new admin function, where you can define what default permissions a person in the moderator group will have, if they aren't assigned to a specific forum.

To edit these, under Admin, click Forums and then click Moderator Forum Permissions.

If these various permissions are selected, they are only granted to moderators assigned to a forum. If they are not selected, then they are granted to all moderators in the moderators group, regardless if they are assigned to a forum or not.

Thanks to couch for tracking this pesky bug down and helping us find a solution.

The FusionBB Documentation Resource has been a labor of love of Lori and she deserves a TON of credit and thanks for coming up with this idea to use FusionBB in a new way and to integrate our documentation within the software itself.

She's spent a lot of time updating topics and moving them from the Wiki to the new resource area.

Now you can search this site for what you are looking for and get the official documentation included in your search results as well!

We have been looking forward to this for some time and we know that there are areas of the documentation that still need work and we would greatly appreciate it if you let us know what is missing or what could use more development. Please use the

We hope you find this new resource useful and informative.

So once again, thank you Lori for all your hard work! We really appreciate all your efforts with this new resource!

Wiki Temporarily Down

I have temporarily taken the wiki offline as a security vulnerability in the wiki software has come to our attention.
