we have lots of people here using FBB for their auto forums. I would like to have ideas on starting a autoforum.

To give you some background, I am considering to start a auto/car forum for Indian autos/cars. There are quite a few automobile forums there but I think there is still some space for new forums.

I am looking for suggestions on how I can be different

I agree.

The problem I am having over at my motorsports site is that I am trying to cover all motorsports ... and that is HUGE! I have forums all over the place, and have made it more massive than it should be. I am working on refining it now.

The best thing is that niche' and run with it. When you do, focus on JUST that and that only (maybe have a couple off topic forums, but nothing to wild).

I've had similar problems with my trucking forums. We have tried some added forums, but they just didn't fly, so we took them off. Many times more is not a good thing. Try something, but if it's not working, don't leave it there in limbo. People see a dead forum and it might just drive them away. Better to have fewer forums that are busy, than many forums that are dead, thereby forcing users to wade through hundreds of junk in order to find something they like.
