The upgrade on my test site was smooth & quick once I'd got permissions sorted (my Vertex install needs 755).

However I can't get logged in. If I try I get taken to change_pswd.php? to change my password. Can't get past it.

Help!

Is your test site on the same domain? If so are you using a different cookie prefix? The cookies between the two sites may be confusing the login aspect.

Just done a fresh install again - twice.

The site is on the same domain. I have used a different cookie & table prefix as I've has issues like this before if I have different forums open ast same time logging into one logs me out of the others.

Anyway - fault in detail:

Doesn't recognise my password. On IE I can request a new password which then works but I can then choose another password. If I set one & then submit I get this message:

In FF & Chrome I get the same problem plus it won't accept the temp password either.

{edit} correction - FF/Chrome do accept temp password - same as IE

Deleting this one.
I think problem may be I haven't set up the folder it's in as a sub-domain. I'm actually going set up a new domain for this install as it may end up as another live forum. I don't remember having these issues with past test sites set up the same way though.

Set up a totally new domain for my site & it wouldn't recognise the password set up on install.

I did the forgot password thing which got me in & this time it did let me change the password.

I set up a new account & that works fine - so it just seems to be the original account where it won't take the password entered at install.

Let me do some testing on this - as that's been something people have said before, and I've thought maybe they enter the wrong thing on setup etc.... however it's worked for me, but maybe I need to grab the latest package and test if there's something wrong with password creation there.

Sounds good. And I agree, things were very confusing the way releases were handled. I think that from now on it will be much easier to track bugs, etc with the "new" naming system. Onward and upwards.
