Interesting policy. - However... does it seem redundant? Is the goal for the RSS not to contain the replies?

Would it make more sense to modify the RSS system so that (based on the forum setting) the only include topics, and omit replies.

How about we turn on the post moderation requiring mod/admin to allow the reply to become public? Then if the replies becomes off topic split the thread - moving it into a sub forum

The goal was to keep the same open door policy allowing any comment to be made about our posts while at the same time keeping things a little simpler and neater.

I have been on other forums that run a similar policy and as an end-user really appreciated the separation.

We'll give it a try, we are always up for change so if it doesn't work we can tweak it as needed.
