Does anyone know a way to stop the PT emails from going out to users?

Ideally stopping the PT emails that get sent when a user removes themselves from a PT topic.

I cannot find this documentation, any help appreciated.

just remove any text in the box should remove it so PT's do not go out..

This will stop all PT's or just the "no longer participating in topic" PT's?

I believe the ability to stop PT notifications when a user removes themselves is handled on an individual account by the person who doesn't want to be notified. It would be located in their user CP display section and it's called: "Ignore PT Cleanup".

Then, if you want to stop all users from sending PT's out, you can change this setting in Admin/Permissions and just take away the ability to create PT's from the "user" group.

"Ignore PT Cleanup" selection only stops the icon from flashing in the window, it does not stop fusion from sending out an annoying message

"XXX has removed themselves from this topic"


I am getting flooded with requests on how to stop this message.

It is nice to receive an email alert when you have a new PT but for every new message you get 1 1/2 removals.

That's not how it's supposed to work. I have that checked on several Fusion boards and I'm never notified when someone removes themselves from a PT. There's another spot to stop the PT flasher from showing.

Under Ignore PT Cleanup:

• Quote:

If you have "PT Popup Alert" checked, then you will get the PT alert each time you receive a PT.

• Quote:

Then you have "Clear PT Flasher"

• Quote:

If you leave this unchecked, the PT flasher will never be cleared until you've read all your PTs.

Out of curiosity, which version of Fusion are you running?

When a person removes themselves from a PT, they need to clear the text that is in the "Reason" box. Otherwise it will generate a message that they left the PT.

Just did a quick check of my 2.3 test site and my 3.0 test site and it doesn't populate that box with any text any longer. What version are you running? I think we removed that bit of text a version or two ago.
