I have been working on a fitness related web site for years. I'd like to show you all a little bit of it as I prepare for the "MySpace Launch" we are doing this year.
If you have a fusionbb site and wouldn't mind me setting you up with a fitness portal (free) just confirm by replying to this thread. I hope to get at least 5-10 fusionbb customers in this challenge. It will make more sense once we get this rolling, but it essentially amounts to you logging your walking, running or biking miles.
Thanks..

Hey Dean,
I am up for it on the biking end of things, especially since I both miss biking and really need to work on getting back in shape.
However I am not ready to get going yet, we are still seeing 105+ degree days It has been the hottest summer on record here in Las Vegas and is not backing off.
Being that I have not regularly biked in about 3 or 4 years I think I need to wait for 80 degree days before I can really get started.

Hey, I expected a few more replies No now really, I want to ask you to give this a chance. I'm not asking for hardly any of your time, all I'll do is set up your web site as an organization at my web site, free, and then have you log a few of your walking miles, for example.
This fitness portal that I'm offering to you is something I will eventually sell, but for now its something I just want to get some customers trying out, so since I feel closest to the fusion gang I thought this would be a good place to offer.
All you need to do is register at my site and log a few miles, perhap a minute or two of your time. Give it a try! I promise it wont be so bad

Hehe, if I remember, in another week, once work is done with extended summer hours, I'll be headed back to the gym and I can log some walking miles from the treadmill. :-)

Can we log both? My wife wants us to get a treadmill in the next month or so. If I go ahead and get that maybe I could log bike and walking miles.

You can do all 3. The "fitness portal" should make this intuitive, but I guess thats what I'm trying to discover, so I need your honest feedback.
I'm hoping to have it ready by tomorrow, in the meantime can you register at my site? When you go to http://www.fitnessrace.com click on "Enter your miles (and sign up)" on left. I'm assuming you have flash installed.
One of the fields to fill in is organization number and password, you don't need to worry about that.
Let me know how that goes

Dean,
I would love to, but with my current feet issues, walking and even riding a bike is pretty much out of the question. Far too painful.

Sorry to hear about that. Well, thanks for thinking about it.
I should always try to communicate that any walking can count. I've had some challenges where everyone was equiped with a pedometer. This means all walking will count.
If anyone is interested in a pedometer you can get a good one at Walmart for $5.

I'm in Dean, The Cpt. in my JROTC battalion this year likes PT (physical training) on Fridays, so I'm sure I'll be logging some good walking miles

FWIW - We discovered a registration problem from the flash side. You are registered but it didn't invoke the confirmation email, and we are looking into that now. Thanks.

NP, just let me know what you need me to do. If you need me to re-register or anything that is fine.

I'd be up for this, if the new version of FBB (2.2) can support particle boxes per forum?
I have a fitness forum, so this would be ace, but I'd only want it in that forum, not the whole site if you get my drift

Whats your fitness forum? I was only familiar with your car forums.
Hey thanks, much appreciated! This doesn't go into your forum at all. I set you up as an organization at my site, you go there and log any walking, running or biking miles.
The "Cool" part (I think) is the flash front end the displays top people, top companies, top cities, states etc.. etc.. by pulling all that info from my database through a script generated xml file.
So, with my few organizations logging right now, if you log some miles you'll probably show up! Good PR for you if I ever get this thing rolling.
Don't bother registering quite yet, we found a problem with the flash registration I need to fix first. I'll get back to you.
