Hi, installed Beta 2 without a hitch and working fine ...what were the fixes from Beta 1?
Didn't list them on the changelog, but probably need to. For now, it's everything in the bug forum marked [FIXED RC2] or [FIXED 2.2 B2] in the subject line.

You'll get a PT for notification, I need to look at the settings again, it should also be able to email you if you have the staff mail settings set up correctly.
No, SMTP is only if you need to use an alternate email host to send email from your site, if sendmail is disabled.

Or if you have a web hosting company that has no clue about how to manage or use their own spam filtering system - which ends up blocking all e-mail sent from your forum.
If you haven't noticed the sig. it's on my hosting company and we do have aggressive anti-spam but it has never stopped forum mails before. I guess I need to subscribe to a random topic and see if I get mails.
Just think I have all the settings right for e-mail notify that posts need to be approved and I'm not getting them.
They implemented a 'new' spam filtering solution for their e-mail servers. This resulted in dropped messages, it was as though a message was never sent. Fortunately, Dave was kind enough to get that SMTP feature started in development. While it was in development we switched to a different hosting solution, although it is good to have a fall back option, just in case.
Things are looking pretty stable. We have made some changes to the language file system (allowing for searching and restoring of strings if things get dorked up) so we'll probably float one more beta next week, just to make sure that new/changed functionality is working well. But we're nearly gold at this point. Just giving it some time to let it be field tested at some live sites. So far so good (knock wood) not really any show stopping bugs or issues.
