3.1 Progress 06-13-09 09:08 PM I thought I would give everyone an update of what is going on behind the FBB doors. As well as 3.0 bugs being sorted we are working very closely with the Alpha team on planning and finalizing the 3.1 feature set. The alpha team keeps expanding upon their ideas and we are really working on some great features. If you have any thing you would absolutely like to see in in FBB and want us to consider it for 3.1 please do not forget to post your ideas in the Features Request forum. Thanks again to the Alpha Team for their great work on this project!

Blog Writing - Does it have to be stressful? 06-02-09 10:15 PM I find myself getting excited thinking about the different ways that my new Fusion blog can be used to communicate, especially since I have very little blogging experience. The truth of the matter though is that it turns stressful rather quickly for me. I know I am not the best writer, I know that I have a habit of trailing on. I start to question whether the topic on my mind is something that anyone else is interested in. I guess that is primarily due to the nature of what a blog is. Unlike a a forum where you are having a conversation a blog is a bit one-sided...kind of like speaking to a brick wall. Sure people may comment on a post, or email you about it....but that is after the fact. Unlike a conversation it is 100% up to you to hold the audience's attention for the entire length of your blog post. It is up to you to be entertaining and informative all in one post. That is a bit of a responsibility right there. So today I decided to write my own blog rules for how I will be writing future blogs:
I think I broke everyone of those blog rules (except for being myself) in this post...but what can I say, it's a work in progress....or maybe I am a work in progress. I'll try to let you guys also get a better feel for who I am via my blog posts. I have had the fantastic opportunity to meet a few of you in person and have hit it off with each of you and am hoping I can do that same thing in the virtual world. Lastly I try to present a positive vibe about my projects and in the things I do in my life. So in that light I plan on ending everyone of my posts with a positive quote of some type. Since I need to do some obvious growth to follow my own blog posting rules I feel the following Irish proverb is appropriate for today's blog:
You've got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your grandfather was.

Great Blog Ideas! 06-01-09 07:25 PM There have been a lot of posts so far in the forums about ways to grow the blog feature. The current implementation is the foundation of what we intend will become one of the most popular and fully featured items within FusionBB. Now that the cornerstone of this part of the project, the actual ability to blog, has been created the ideas for what we can do to allow for better interaction between blogging and the rest of the forum software is near limitless. We'd really like to continue reading your ideas and thoughts about what features, toolsets and interactions you would like us to include int he blogging functionality in the future. So please continue to post your great ideas within the feature requests area. Believe me we are compiling your ideas for future FusionBB releases.

Fusion 3.0 Final Released! 05-30-09 05:02 PM If you've made it to my blog you probably saw that FusionBB 3.0 final has been released. Thanks to Josh, Chris, Couch and the entire alpha team for their hard work on this release. Everyone has put a lot of time into this release and we really appreciate it. Keep tuned to my blog for teases and tidbits about what we have on the horizon for you.

Welcome to my Fusion Blog 05-30-09 04:26 PM Most of you have seen my posts or have had tickets and / or PT's with me and know that my responses can be ... well lengthy. So you may find it surprising that I really haven't blogged much before. With that said I plan on blogging here regularly. I hope to blog about a number of things here so I'll do my best to keep it updated and maybe you can check in every once in awhile and even comment on my blog. I plan on blogging about the future of FusionBB and Fusion related items the most of course, though I may blog about hosting, other webmaster related items and general tech stuff in general. -Billy
