Starting with Version 3.0 of FusionBB, you are able to post news to the portal from ANY forum.
This handy feature is very simple to set up and use.
Any user in a group which is given the site permission
"Can Post News" will be able to create or edit a post and will see the option
This is News.
'This is News (add topicon)' option (checkbox highlighted)
Checking this option will post the news to the site's portal page.
