 My Userpage & Blog Information
Article (Applies to versions 3.0 and newer of FusionBB)

Starting with FusionBB version 3.0, users will have the option of having a personal 'My Userpage & Blog' page.

Beginning Your Blog

If you can create a post or make a reply on a FusionBB-based messageboard, then you can easily create a blog!

To post a new entry to your blog, go to:
My Fusion >> My Userpage & Blog

Near the bottom of the page, you will see a title bar that has '[your username]'s Personal Blog | Post New Blog Entry'.  Clicking the 'Post New Blog Entry' link will open up the familiar text-entry page that you see when you are making or replying to a post in the forum area. Here you are able to change the font color of your text, add highlighting, image links, and many other options.

When you've completed your blog entry, you can 'Preview' it and/or 'Add Blog Entry'. This last option will upload your completed blog entry to your Userpage. Once your blog is posted, you can go back and edit, delete, or post an additional comment to your entry. Other users can also post comments to your blogs.

Preparing for your 'My Userpage'

If your site administrator has allowed it, you may be able to have a Bio box on your 'My Userpage'. You will first need to create your Bio at:
My Fusion >> Control Panel >> Public Profile >> Bio Box

You also need to be sure that the 'Show user page '(Blog, Gallery, Shoutbox & Buddies, etc...)' has a check in the box next to it. This will allow your information to be shared to your 'My Userpage'.

Finally, you can set up your Personal Information area
to show the fields that you want to show (out of the ones that your site admin has allowed)--to do this, go to:

My Fusion >> Control Panel >> My Userpage & Blog >> Choose Profile Fields

Click on a field that you would like to add, such as info_location,  or you can Ctrl + Click to select multiple options. Click the 'Submit' button to confirm your choices. That information will now be pulled from the site database and added to your Blog Profile Box.

If your site admin has designed different templates for the Userpage & Blog page, you can pick one that works for you at the 'Choose template' drop-down box.

In the example image above, the main FusionBB website has two templates available. 'Template1' has three columns and two rows, with the second row stretched across the bottom of the page. The second choice, 'template2' also has three columns, but differs from the first template by having three rows. The bottom two rows are stretched across the three columns.

Customizing your 'My Userpage'

At your Userpage, you can drag and drop particle boxes that have the items you would like to share: User Gallery (pictures you want to post for others to enjoy), Bio, Blog, a personal Shoutbox, or your Buddy List.

Simply click the 'Add/Remove Content' link right above your Userpage 'sandbox'. This opens up a listing of the particle box items available to be added to your page. Click on an item and drag it to the column you would like it to show up in. Continue to drag and drop items until you have your Userpage customized the way you want.

Drag and drop your particle box choices the way you'd like them arranged on your 'My Userpage'.

As you drag/drop, you will see a dotted red outline box around your item when you have it correctly positioned in the column of your choice. Release your mouse button to 'drop' the particle box item into that column.

Click the 'Add/Remove Content' link again to make the available listings disappear.

When you've completed your Userpage, click the 'Submit' button above the 'Add/Remove Content' link to save your preferences.
