If you've added quotes for the Random Quotes particle box, but they aren't showing up--please try the following suggestions:
- Clear the cache.
This can be done at
AdminCP >> Database >> Re-sync data >> Clear cache
By default, the quotes are refreshed every 30 minutes. The settings can be viewed and configured in the Cache Settings section of the Admin Configuration area.
- Check to make sure that the Quotes particle box is not numbered with the same sort order number as another particle.
If this is the case, it would cause a conflict and the box would not show up. A general rule of thumb for assigning the sort order is to go by 10s or 15s: i.e. first would be 10, second would be 20, and so on. This allows room for future additions without having to re-number the entire group.
- Try changing the configuration setting for the portal so it will cache five quotes.
This will keep that amount of quotes cached and rotate between those until the next update. When the cache updates, it should grab another set of five and use that as the source for the rotating random quotes.
